This image shows a visual coincidence between the dark branches of a nearby tree and a distant aurora. The aurora's bright glow appears to mimic the tree's leaves. Auroras are caused by charged particles from the sun interacting with Earth's magnetic field. This particular aurora was seen from a location where it aligned perfectly with the tree.
