A Falcon 9 Nebula

NASA APOD · Dennis Huff
COSMIC MESSAGE

This illuminated cloud of gas and dust is not a distant galactic nebula, but rather the exhaust from a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Captured at 3:17 AM from Titusville, Florida, on August 29, it shows the plumes and exhaust from the separated first and second stages. The launch was for the CRS-23 mission, which resupplied the International Space Station. Early morning skygazers on the space coast were dazzled by the sight.
