All of These Space Images are Fake Except One

Some astronomical images are faked, but for a good reason: to better understand our real universe. Many projects use robotic telescopes to image the night sky, then algorithms analyze these digital images to find stars and galaxies. To calibrate these algorithms, scientists test them on fake images from a simulated universe, like this one, to see if they can correctly identify known objects.
