Comet Leonard's tail streams across this three-degree-wide field of view, captured from Namibia. Just days after an outburst, the comet reached naked-eye visibility. Binoculars make it easier to spot near the western horizon after sunset. The image shows the comet's coma with a greenish tinge and the interaction of its ion tail with the solar wind.
