COSMIC MESSAGE
The Gum Nebula is a vast expanse of glowing hydrogen gas, so large and dim it's often hard to see. It spans 35 degrees, more than 70 full moons, across the sky. This 90-degree wide mosaic, acquired last year, was designed to be both wide and deep enough to reveal the nebula, visible in red on the right. Haba Snow Mountain is in the foreground.
