COSMIC MESSAGE
These images of Mars, taken from Singapore in late November, show the planet approaching its opposition. Olympus Mons, the largest known volcano in the solar system, appears as a whitish donut shape near the upper right. Mars was approximately 82 million kilometers from Earth when these photos were taken.
