Ice Clouds over a Red Planet

NASA's Perseverance rover captured this view of ice clouds high above the Martian surface in March. The landscape appears orange due to iron oxide, or rust, in the Martian soil. The thin atmosphere, often filled with dust, allows for unique optical phenomena, like the blue tint near the rising sun caused by how sunlight interacts with atmospheric particles.
