NASA APOD · NASA, ESA, JPL, SSI, Cassini Imaging Team
COSMIC MESSAGE

Saturn's north pole features a bizarre hexagonal cloud pattern. Discovered by Voyager in the 1980s, this hexagon has no clear explanation. The Cassini spacecraft, in 2012, captured this false-color image, showing high clouds in green and low clouds in red, revealing the structure in detail.
