COSMIC MESSAGE
Pulsars, the rapidly spinning remnants of massive stars, are being used as cosmic clocks to detect gravitational waves. By monitoring 68 pulsars, the NANOGrav collaboration has found evidence of a gravitational wave background. This background is likely created by millions of supermassive black hole binaries merging across the universe.
