An Annular Solar Eclipse over New Mexico

NASA APOD · Colleen Pinski
COSMIC MESSAGE

This person is watching an annular eclipse of the Sun. In 2012, this kind of eclipse was visible across the northern Pacific Ocean and several western US states. The Moon is too far from Earth to block the entire Sun, leaving a 'ring of fire' around its disk. This photographer drove from Arizona to New Mexico to find this view.
