Northern Pluto

Pluto's Lowell Regio, named for the founder of Lowell Observatory, stretches across the northern part of the dwarf planet. These frozen canyons were captured by the New Horizons spacecraft in July 2015. The probe completed the first reconnaissance flight through the Pluto system, six billion kilometers from the Sun.
