The Moon recently passed through Earth's shadow, creating a partial lunar eclipse. This happens once or twice a year because the Moon's orbit is tilted. This image, from Italy, shows a full Hunter's Moon during the eclipse. On the left, the uneclipsed part is overexposed, while the right shows the full range of lunar detail.
