The Fornax Cluster of Galaxies

COSMIC MESSAGE

The Fornax Cluster is one of the closest galaxy clusters, about 62 million light-years away. Almost every yellowish patch in this three-degree wide field of view is an elliptical galaxy belonging to the cluster. Fornax is named for the southern constellation where most of its galaxies are found.
