COSMIC MESSAGE
NASA's Juno spacecraft has completed over 70 passes of Jupiter, revealing surprising details from below the planet. This 2017 image shows that the familiar horizontal bands disappear into swirls and complex patterns. Juno's data shows that Jupiter's weather phenomena extend deep below its cloud tops and that its core is diffuse, not solid.
