Chamaeleon Dark Nebulas

Dark dust clouds, usually too faint to see, take on an angular elegance in the constellation Chamaeleon. This long exposure captures the dust in its own light, revealing strong red and near-infrared colors. A bright star, Beta Chamaeleontis, shines blue in the upper right.
