Milky Way over Uruguayan Lighthouse

NASA APOD · Mauricio Salazar
COSMIC MESSAGE

This image from Uruguay shows a lighthouse and the Milky Way Galaxy. The lighthouse's light beams appear to align with the dark dust lanes of our galaxy, a momentary coincidence. The bright dot on the right is the planet Jupiter. The central band of the Milky Way is our galaxy's disk, seen from within.
