COSMIC MESSAGE
The Red Rectangle is a stellar nebula with an unusual, geometric shape. At its center is a binary star system, likely responsible for creating the nebula. This system expels a significant amount of mass in a bipolar flow. Scientists speculate that precessing jets from the central stars might throw gas into a thick disk, which we see edge-on as the nebula's rectangular shape.
