A Quintet of Galaxies

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

This cosmic gathering features five galaxies locked in a slow gravitational dance. Known as Stephan's Quintet, four of these galaxies are gravitationally interacting, pulling and distorting each other. The fifth galaxy, though seemingly part of the group, is much closer to us and not involved in their celestial ballet. This system is located about 300 million light-years away in the constellation Pegasus.
