COSMIC MESSAGE
The Crab Nebula formed from a star that exploded over 900 years ago, throwing its outer layers into space. The inner core collapsed to form a neutron star, which we see as a pulsar. This pulsar, at the nebula's center, flashes about 30 times per second.
