The Microwave Anisotropy Probe, or MAP, was designed to study the universe's microwave background radiation in unprecedented detail. This mission aimed to answer fundamental questions about the universe's composition, expansion rate, and galaxy formation. MAP would record the frequency, size, and temperature of fluctuations twenty times smaller than those observed by COBE.
