COSMIC MESSAGE
Surveyor 6 was an uncrewed NASA lunar lander, part of the Surveyor program to scout landing sites for Apollo. It was the first spacecraft to land on the Moon and then lift off again. In November 1967, after touching down, it fired its engine to hop about 4 meters high and moved 2.5 meters across the surface. This panorama shows the cratered lunar surface from its landing site.
