COSMIC MESSAGE
These tangled filaments of glowing gas are part of the Veil Nebula, a supernova remnant in Cygnus. The light from the original explosion reached Earth over 5,000 years ago. These structures are like ripples in a sheet, seen almost edge-on, showing the expanding debris cloud.
