A Green Flash from the Sun
NASA APOD · J. C. Casado
COSMIC MESSAGE
The green flash is a real atmospheric phenomenon, not a myth. Just as the setting Sun disappears from view, a last glimmer can appear startlingly green for a few seconds. This effect is typically visible only from locations with a low, distant horizon. The green flash also occurs at sunrise, but it is less commonly observed.
