A Map of Asteroid Vesta

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Vesta is a large asteroid, 500 kilometers across, orbiting beyond Mars. This map, created using the Hubble Space Telescope, shows a rugged surface dominated by a single crater that spans nearly its entire length. In this false-color image, blue indicates low terrain and red indicates raised terrain. Evidence suggests Vesta experienced a tremendous collision about a billion years ago, which formed this massive crater.
