At the heart of 30 Doradus, a star-forming region in the Large Magellanic Cloud, lies R136. This cluster contains thousands of hot, blue stars, some with masses up to 50 times that of our Sun. The surrounding gas and dust, primarily ionized hydrogen, glow brightly from the intense radiation of these massive stars.
