COSMIC MESSAGE

Most stars appear as points of light, but Mira is one of the few whose surface we have resolved. It is a red giant that pulsates, brightening by more than 100 times over a year. Mira A can grow to over 700 times the size of our Sun. It sits only 400 light-years away.
