Saturn's Rings Seen Sideways

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Saturn's rings are remarkably thin, as seen in this Hubble Space Telescope image from August 1995, when they were edge-on from Earth. Saturn's largest moon, Titan, appears on the left, with its shadow cast on Saturn's cloud tops. Titan's thick atmosphere gives it a brownish color. Other moons, including Mimas, Tethys, Janus, and Enceladus, are also visible.
