COSMIC MESSAGE
You can't see this part of the Dumbbell Nebula with binoculars. This image, taken with a sophisticated spectrograph on an 8-meter telescope, shows the central part of the nebula. Also known as M27, it's a planetary nebula created by the bright, aging star just right of center. The nebula, located in the constellation Vulpecula, is thousands of years old.
