Under a tree, dozens of crescent Sun images appear on the ground during a solar eclipse. Each small gap between leaves acts like a pinhole camera. It projects a clear image of the partially eclipsed Sun onto the shaded surface below. This picture from Northwestern University shows a 1994 eclipse.
