The Center of Centaurus A

The active galaxy Centaurus A's central region is a chaotic mix of young blue star clusters, glowing gas clouds, and dark dust lanes. This Hubble Space Telescope mosaic combines blue, green, and red light to show its natural color. Infrared images from Hubble also reveal what appear to be disks of matter spiraling into a billion-solar-mass black hole at its core.
