COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 6188 is a region of young blue stars, hot red gas, and dark dust, about 4,000 light-years away in the disk of our galaxy. The bright stars of the Ara OB1 association, specifically the open cluster NGC 6193, illuminate the surrounding dust. Some of their blue light reflects off interstellar dust, creating the diffuse blue glow seen in the center of the photograph.
