The Cassini spacecraft, on its way to Saturn, makes its final close approach to Earth. Each dot in this image, captured at 10-minute intervals, is the spacecraft. It rapidly moved through Earth's night sky on August 18, 1999, before slingshotting toward the outer solar system.
