COSMIC MESSAGE
Noctilucent clouds are the highest clouds in Earth's atmosphere, forming in the mesosphere. They are only visible during twilight, after sunset or before sunrise, when the Sun is below the horizon but still illuminates these high-altitude clouds. This image shows their delicate, glowing network. They are thought to be composed of tiny ice crystals.
