1998 Leonid Fireball

NASA APOD · Lorenzo Lovato
COSMIC MESSAGE

This Leonid fireball streaked across the skies of Monteromano, Italy, on November 17, 1998, captured through light clouds. It was part of a dazzling show, even if it wasn't the meteor storm many had hoped for. The Leonids occur yearly when Earth passes through dust left by Comet Tempel-Tuttle.
