Rhea: Saturn's Second Largest Moon

NASA APOD · Calvin J. Hamilton
COSMIC MESSAGE

Saturn's moon Rhea, captured by Voyager 1 in 1980, is mostly water ice with a small rocky core. Like Earth's Moon, it is tidally locked with Saturn, so one side always faces the planet. This means its leading surface is much more heavily cratered than the trailing side.
