NASA APOD · Tim Schaeffer
COSMIC MESSAGE
Blasting outward from the variable star KX Andromedae are these stunning bipolar jets, 19 light-years long. Recently discovered, they are revealed in unprecedented detail in this deep telescopic image. KX Andromedae is an interacting binary star system, with a hot B-type star and a swollen cool giant star. Stellar material from the cool giant is being siphoned off and ejected in these jets.
