The US Surveyor 6 lander, a robotic explorer, completed its mission in November 1967. After touching down on the Moon, it fired its engine again and hopped a few meters across the surface. This panorama shows the cratered lunar landscape it explored. It was the first spacecraft to land and then lift off from the Moon.
