Olympus Mons on Mars is the largest volcano in the Solar System. It stands three times higher than Earth's highest mountain and has a volume fifty times greater than Earth's largest volcano. The caldera at its summit is over 70 kilometers wide. A cliff up to 10 kilometers high surrounds the base of the volcano.
