3D View Of Jupiter's Clouds

Jupiter is a gas giant, so every day is a cloudy day. This 3D visualization, built from Galileo spacecraft data, models the Jovian cloud decks. The image exaggerates the separation and height variations between the layers. The upper layer is a haze, tens of miles thick, while lower clouds are color-coded by height: light blue for high and thin, reddish for lower and thicker.
