The Gullies Of Mars
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Mars Global Surveyor spotted these gullies on Mars. They are rare, but they may be sites of present-day, near-surface, liquid water. If so, they hold the tantalizing possibility of Martian life. Too small for past orbiters to see, these landforms were found in only 250 of more than 20,000 high-resolution images. The gullies are located away from the Martian equatorial region at middle and high latitudes.
