COSMIC MESSAGE
Stars appear as pinpoints of light because they are so far away. Earth's atmosphere, however, is not uniform. Different pockets of air create slightly different images of the same star, and because the atmosphere is always moving, the star appears to twinkle. This image captures that effect over time.
