NGC 3603 is a young, active star-forming region in the Carina spiral arm of our Milky Way, about 20,000 light-years away. This false-color X-ray image from the Chandra Observatory shows many individual sources. The colors indicate relative X-ray brightness, with green being faint and red to purple being bright.
