NASA APOD · N. A. Sharp
COSMIC MESSAGE
M103 is an open cluster of bright blue stars, about 20 million years old. The gas clouds where these stars formed have long dispersed. The brightest and most massive stars have already consumed their fuel and exploded as supernovae, leaving behind a collection of younger, less massive stars. This cluster is 8,000 light-years away in Cassiopeia.
