Asteroid 433 Eros, a space rock orbiting between Mars and Earth, was visited by the NEAR-Shoemaker spacecraft. This visualization uses high-resolution measurements from NEAR's Laser Rangefinder to create a 3D model of the asteroid. NEAR discovered that Eros is a single, solid body with a nearly uniform composition. This asteroid formed during the early years of our Solar System.
