NASA APOD · AAO
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters or M45, is the most famous star cluster in the sky. It is visible without binoculars, even from a light-polluted city. The Pleiades is one of the brightest and closest open clusters, containing over 3000 stars, about 400 light-years away, and 13 light-years across. Blue reflection nebulae surround the bright cluster stars.
