The 1998 Leonids Meteor Shower was extensively photographed. Observers saw bright meteors with fading trails stretching across the sky. This image, taken above the Anza-Borrego Desert, shows a meteor streaking from the constellation Leo, the radiant of the Leonids. This meteor train covered over 40 degrees and changed colors from green to red. The Leonids are debris from Comet Tempel-Tuttle.
