COSMIC MESSAGE

In March 1996, a galaxy and a comet shared the southern sky above Loomberah, Australia. Astronomer Gordon Garradd captured this view with an all-sky camera. The luminous band of our Milky Way Galaxy, cut by dark interstellar dust clouds, dominated the scene. Along with bright stars, the comet was a prominent feature.
