Globular star cluster 47 Tucanae, also known as NGC 104, is a bright jewel of the southern sky. It lies about 13,000 light-years away and is the second brightest globular cluster visible from Earth. This dense cluster contains hundreds of thousands of stars, roaming the halo of our Milky Way Galaxy alongside some 200 other globular clusters.
