Comet NEAT, C/2002 V1, was a naked-eye comet visible in the southern skies. Photographer Noel Munford captured this view from New Zealand, showing its impressive tail against the faint stars of Sculptor. The comet emerged from evening twilight after a dramatic pass by the Sun.
