Martian Moon Phobos from MGS

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Phobos, Mars's largest and innermost moon, is the darkest moon in our solar system. Its unusual orbit and color suggest it might be a captured asteroid, possibly made of ice and dark rock. This image, captured by the Mars Global Surveyor, shows a heavily cratered, barren surface. Scientists use such images to understand its composition and origin.
